The year is 1937, the United States of America are no longer united. Due to economic changes and political conflict, the Americas broke apart, with the Republic of Texas leading the way in 1930. Soon all the American states belonged to separate nations.
What had begun as a simple love affair with planes - those exotic and daring engines of the sky - soon became necessity as land based commerce ground to a halt.
This paved the way for Airborne shipping, the new king of commerce. Across all 23 American nations, old fashioned trains, ships and trucks, were no match for the modern Zeppelin. Shipments had never been faster. Mountains, rivers and forests? They are no problem for these luxury liners of the sky!
But with modern air shipping, comes modern air pirates. The scourge of the skies!
Where the money does, so do these marauding sky pirates. But nations responded in force, creating their own Government Militias, to beat the pirates at their own game. Many Private Security Militia groups were formed to protect commercial interests. Some nations, secretly or openly, have been using pirates as hired Pirvateers.
Either out of necessity, or two undermine the efforts of rivals.
The planes are fast and deadly.
The dogfights between Rivals Pirates and Militias are brutal.
The Air lanes are the new frontiers, where are a single individual with nerve and skill can take to the skies.
The sky is limit - but five thousand feet up makes for a long fall from glory.
